Caymus California Cabernet Sauvignon (2023)

Caymus, founded in 1972 by the Wagner family in Rutherford, is best known for its luxurious, approachable Cabernet Sauvignons. The style leans ripe, velvety, and generous, with dark fruit, polished tannins, and a crowd‑pleasing sweetness of oak. 

Introduced by Caymus Vineyards with the 2021 vintage, this wine is a California-appellation Cabernet Sauvignon – supple, dark and rich, bearing the signature hallmarks of Caymus. It is sourced from sites throughout the state which feature climatic conditions, soils and topography that are ideally suited to Cabernet – places from Paso Robles to lesser-known areas in Lake, San Benito and Monterey Counties. This project stems from excitement over California’s diverse vineyard land, often in lesser-known areas, with the potential to produce exceptional Cabernet. With ripe fruit and luxurious tannins, this wine reveals the Caymus character, and is drinkable upon release or with age.
