For nearly a thousand years, Sancerre has been celebrated as one of France’s great wine regions, prized by kings, writers, and wine lovers alike. At the heart of the appellation stands Château de Sancerre, a historic estate whose roots trace back to the Middle Ages and whose vineyards have helped shape the reputation of Sancerre around the world. Today, the estate remains under the ownership of the Marnier-Lapostolle family and produces the only wine that may bear the exclusive name Château de Sancerre, capturing the heritage, elegance, and unmistakable character of its historic birthplace.
Cuvée made from a blend of the three characteristic terroirs of the Sancerre appellation: Terres Blanches (citrus notes), Silex (mineral notes), and Caillottes (ripe fruits and structure). Harvesting is done plot by plot according to the ripeness of the grapes.
Bright pale yellow color. Elegant nose opening with aromas of yellow fruits, pear, vineyard peach, and pineapple with a hint of limestone. Beautiful balance between minerality and roundness. Long aromatic persistence with a tense finish. Ideal as an aperitif or with seafood, fish, and goat cheese.
