Château Langoa Barton Saint-Julien (2021)

Château Langoa Barton is one of Bordeaux’s great family estates, with Barton roots in the region dating back to 1722. Over generations, the family built its reputation as both négociants and château owners, eventually co‑founding the still‑active Barton & Guestier merchant house. Their Saint‑Julien story began in 1821 with the purchase of what became Langoa Barton, followed soon after by the creation of neighboring Léoville Barton—both wines still crafted side‑by‑side in the Langoa cellars. Nearly three centuries later, the Barton family continues to steward these classic Left Bank properties with unwavering tradition and continuity.

The chateau is celebrating 200 years in 2021 with a special label. 2021 - the label commemorating the bicentenary pays tribute to this story in four parts: Origin, Heritage, Nature, and Evolution. Four drawings on one label, each representing the history and the key events of our family, linked together by two powerful symbols: the vine with its production of wine embodying the cycle of life, and filigree wrought ironwork. 

Deep crimson. Fresh dark cherry, blackcurrant wax polish aromas and flavours, plentiful fine velvety firm, slightly brambly tannins, some dark chocolate/espresso notes. Finishes firm with an inky plume. Should build more richness with age. 

Blend: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc
