Illumination Sauvignon Blanc (2025)

Inspired by the great Sauvignon Blancs of France’s Loire Valley, Illumination began with a small half-acre vineyard planted on the Quintessa estate in 2002. As its reputation quickly grew among sommeliers and wine lovers, the search expanded to exceptional nearby Napa Valley vineyards with alluvial soils and low yields. Today, Illumination blends fruit from these carefully selected sites to deliver vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavors, refreshing minerality, and the bright, elegant character that has made it one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated white wines.

The 2025 vintage of Illumination opens with an inviting nose of Meyer lemon and mandarin zest intertwined with fresh white peach. Layers of honeysuckle and orange blossom lend a delicate floral lift, while herbaceous whispers of lemongrass and thyme add vivid complexity. On the palate, the wine announces itself with presence and grip; bright and fresh at entry, with flavors of grapefruit, peach skin, and guava carrying lovely density and a pleasing pithy texture. Notes of quince and candied ginger emerge, framed by a creamy roundness that balances the wine’s lively, mouthwatering acidity. A flinty minerality threads through from start to finish, lending focus and elegance to the long, expressive close.
