Macán Clásico (2021)

Macán Clásico is a wine that is firmly rooted in its region of origin, the Sonsierra in La Rioja, where the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria amass centuries of wine growing and wine making tradition, knowledge and culture. It reflects the freshness, fruitiness, vivacity and delicacy of the terroir, plus additional depth and complexity. Red wine wholly made using the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties. Grapes from parcels of limestone soil with sandy clay.

The 2021 harvest was magnificent: healthy and fresh grapes with crisp skin. This was the second year in which we enhanced our field blend with Grenache grapes. The combination of this outstanding vintage and our technical 
team's increased knowledge has made this Macán Clásico 2021 the best to date. This is a wine with a consolidated style: lively, fresh and a great presence.

The Macan Clásico 2021 is a wine that captures the essence of the Rioja region's terroir. It is crafted from 100% Tempranillo grapes, harvested by hand, and is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by an additional 18 months in bottle before release. The wine is characterized by its bright, deep ruby color with youthful violet hues, expressive notes of red and black fruits such as cherry, plum, and blackberry, with subtle loral hints, spice, and a touch of fresh earth. The palate offers juicy and vibrant ripe fruit wrapped in fine tannins, medium to full-bodied with lively acidity, showing freshness, elegance, and persistence. The finish is long, silky, and harmonious, with echoes of fruit and spice.
